Aniksha Jaisinghani, a prominent businesswoman in Mumbai, has been granted bail after being remanded to judicial custody by a Mumbai court. Jaisinghani was arrested in connection with a financial fraud case involving her company, which is accused of misappropriating funds.
The case was registered against Jaisinghani and her company in April 2021, after the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police received a complaint from a group of investors alleging that Jaisinghani had misused their funds. The investors had invested in Jaisinghani’s company, which was involved in the business of trading in commodities.
The EOW conducted an investigation into the matter and found that Jaisinghani had misused the funds of the investors. The EOW then arrested Jaisinghani and remanded her to judicial custody.
Jaisinghani then filed a bail application in the Mumbai court, which was heard on May 5, 2021. After hearing the arguments of both sides, the court granted Jaisinghani bail on a personal bond of Rs. 1 lakh.
The court also directed Jaisinghani to cooperate with the investigation and not to tamper with any evidence. Jaisinghani was also asked to surrender her passport and not to leave the country without the court’s permission.
The court also directed Jaisinghani to appear before the EOW on the dates specified by them. Jaisinghani has been asked to appear before the EOW on May 10, 2021.
The case is still under investigation and the EOW is yet to file a charge sheet in the case. Jaisinghani is currently out on bail and is expected to appear before the EOW on the specified date.
